The alarm was set for 5:30am so we could make Bar by lunchtime. And yes, that is the name of the town. It’s Bar not a bar, but I’m sure going to a bar in Bar will be on the cards ;)It was 20kms, so the early start was definitely necessary. And it was awesome! We were greeted with a beautiful morning and another wonderful walk around the coast.
We did make it by lunchtime., which I thought was a bloody good effort! Finding a very modern looking café we sat down for a drink. The plan was to get on the internet for a few hours but alas, there was no wireless to be found and the only internet café had a single plug for laptops which was already being used :(
As we were walking out of town I had the laptop out scanning for wireless, just as I was about to give up another internet café appeared. The blogs would get up after all :)
There are two roads heading out of town in the direction we wanted and of course we ended up on the wrong one! It didn’t matter how many people we asked, it was bound to happen that way. Luckily, there wasn’t too much concern as they ran pretty much parallel and within 6kms we had made our way back to the one we needed.
Down a deserted stretch of the road I came across one of the funniest sights I have seen in a long time. This mechanic had set up shop in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a toolbox and a couple of cement tracks. No walls, no signs, no roof! It was great!!!As it started to get dark we hit Dobra Voda. It had a restaurant, but no accommodation, meaning we would have to start looking for a campsite…
The town seemed to go on forever and we were starting to struggle. Then this perfect clearing appeared, perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The owner was in his front yard so I went to ask. Adam spoke perfect English, but still didn’t quite get what we were doing, and what we wanted. After realizing it was just to camp in his paddock he didn’t mind at all. Thanks mate :)
We must have looked quite a site to the locals and soon enough our neighbor on the other side came to check out what we were about. He couldn’t speak any English at all, but after getting the point across that Adam had said it was cool to be here he was happy.
And so were we :)
