Pilgrimage from Keshan to Ahievren 28/05/08

Amazing! We are up and going by 6am!!!

It seems like yesterday was a bit of a fluke because within the first two hours we come across two squashed snakes and get barked at by a dog :) Oh well, it was good while it lasted...

With the cool temperature we make awesome time to Inecik. It is 17kms from our camping spot and we are there by 11am. An uneventful walk, but perfect timing to wait out the heat.

On the outskirts of town a guy invites us in for a tea and then when we go to leave presents sabine with a rose. She seems to be making a habit of this ;)

Stopping to ask for directions at a service station we get a pleasant surprise...

"Where can we find an internet cafe?"

The old guy grabs Sabine's hand and drags her into the office...

"Here, here...internet, internet"

He can hardly speak any English but Sabine hesitantly takes a seat at the computer while he smiles encouragingly. Sure enough he is more than happy to let her loose on there office PC! Awesome!!!

I set myself up out the front, surprised that my computer gets wireless. Looks like we are set for the day. The guy turns up with some tea for us, then five minute later a bottle of water each, then a toasted sandwich, then coke, then tissues...

It was starting to feel like we were eating them out of house and home so we had to leave :) Amazing hospitality...absolutely incredible :)

Being the middle of the day it is too hot for walking. We make it about a kilometer before collapsing in a heap at a cafe. Drawing a crowd as we set up the backgammon we pass a couple of hours playing away.

The temperature finally becomes bearable again and we get into it. On dark we try for a restaurant at a service station but it is just closing as we arrive. Having already walked about 35kms today we are not keen to keep going. It's going to be a hungry night...
